In a land without magic, where the king rules with an iron hand, an assassin is summoned to the castle. She comes not to kill the king, but to win her freedom. If she defeats twenty-three killers, thieves, and warriors in a competition, she is released from prison to serve as the king’s champion. Her name is Celaena Sardothien.

The Crown Prince will provoke her. The Captain of the Guard will protect her. But something evil dwells in the castle of glass—and it’s there to kill. When her competitors start dying one by one, Celaena’s fight for freedom becomes a fight for survival, and a desperate quest to root out the evil before it destroys her world.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas is all about Celaena Sardothien, an assassin with serious skills. She’s given a shot at freedom by competing in a deadly tournament. But as she fights her way through challenges, she uncovers secrets that could change everything. It’s a thrilling mix of fantasy, action, and a touch of romance that’ll keep you hooked till the very end!

First off, let’s talk about our main character, Celaena Sardothien. She’s not your typical damsel in distress; she’s a deadly assassin with a sharp wit and a killer attitude. But beneath her tough exterior lies a complex character with layers of depth that keep you guessing.

The world-building in this book is great. Maas creates a rich and immersive fantasy realm filled with magic, intrigue, and danger at every turn. From the dark dungeons to the glittering palaces, every description is better than the last. Naturally, it had the first book world-building that every fantasy series has to go through. However overall, I cannot wait to dive deeper into this world with the rest of the series.

Overall, this book is a must-read for fans of fantasy fiction. It’s got everything you could want in a book: action, romance, magic, and a badass heroine you can’t help but root for. Trust me, once you start reading, you won’t be able to put it down.

I am also reading this series in publication order, at least for the first time I read it. I know there are other orders that people recommend reading it in, however, if you feel I am making a mistake feel free to comment below and let me know what the best order to read this series would be.
