As owner of her beloved Gingerbread Bakery, Annie Andrews should have a love life to match her business; sugary and sweet. But instead, she’s locked in a game of words with the irritatingly upbeat bar owner down the street.
Mac Sullivan has everything he wants, except the girl he dreams of. It’s easier to argue with Annie than get her to talk to him, but with Jeanie and Logan’s wedding coming up, they’re about to spend a lot more time together.
As the snowflakes fall and with romance in the air, will Annie see that the one she loves to hate might just be her perfect match after all?

Official Summary

Yes, I am still reading the Dream Harbour series. What started as a joke has now turned into a commitment to read every book in the series. At the very least, they make a lovely, colourful addition to my bookshelf.

This one really shouldn’t have taken me two days to finish, but life has been particularly busy lately, leaving me with very little time to read.

Set in the fictional small town of Dream Harbour, this series is full of feel-good, light-hearted, and completely unrealistic romance. The characters are all genuinely “nice” people. No one in Dream Harbour is ever nasty or selfish. They all support one another, want the best for each other, and most of them have been lifelong friends. Really?

One thing I missed in this instalment was the book club’s antics, which have been one of my favourite parts of the series. The humour mostly came from Nana’s hilarious nightgown saga—you’ll have to read the book to discover what that’s all about. Instead, the story focused largely on the unresolved tension and attraction between Mac and Annie. I also missed the Mayor’s wonderfully bizarre dreams, which seemed to have been forgotten in this book.

There is still another book in the series, and yes, I have already added The Daisy Chain Flower Shop to my TBR. After five books, I simply can’t stop now.

If you’ve been following the Dream Harbour series, you’ll finally discover what caused the long-standing friction between Mac and Annie. This book answers those questions while delivering another cosy, heartwarming visit to Dream Harbour.

THE STRAWBERRY PATCH PANCAKE HOUSE

As a world-renowned chef, single dad Archer never planned on moving to a small town, let alone running a pancake restaurant. But Dream Harbor needs a new chef, and Archer needs a community to help raise his daughter, Olive.
Iris has never managed to hold down a job for more than a few months. So when it’s suggested that Archer is looking for a live-in nanny, she
almost runs in the opposite direction.
Now, Iris finds herself in a whole new world. One where her gorgeous new boss lives right across the hall and likes to cook topless… Keeping everything strictly professional should be easy, right?

Thank you for humouring me. I know this series does not quite fit with the rest of the books on the blog, but I have had a lot of fun with these books and adding something a little lighter cheers things up a little. Until next time…. Happy Reading!
