Julie Tudor is Not a Psychopath.
Julie Tudor is 49 and has it all: a fantastic job (well-maintained spreadsheets are the lynchpin of an efficient office), a beautiful house (some may wonder how she got the money for it, but nothing has been proved) and the man of her dreams.
Julie Tudor is Not a Stalker.
Sean is 25 and the love of Julie’s life. The only problem is, he thinks he’s in love with someone else.
And Julie Tudor is definitely, definitely not a serial killer.
But Julie has found herself in a similar situation before. And if there’s one thing Julie knows, it’s how to get rid of the competition…
After all, what’s a little murder in the name of true love?

This book’s cover and title grabbed my attention the moment I saw it. Yes, I once again judged a book by its cover—I simply could not resist!
What initially appears to be a funny and entertaining read turns out to be a surprisingly sad story beneath the humour.
Julie Tudor grew up in the shadow of her beautiful older sister, and her parents never even attempted to hide the fact that they had a favourite. Throughout her life, Julie longs for love, connection, and companionship—but she has an unfortunate habit of getting things terribly wrong. She misreads the meaning behind other people’s behaviour and often sees only what she wants to see. Deep down, Julie convinces herself that her feelings are reciprocated, when in reality, she is painfully mistaken.
Julie is socially awkward and largely misunderstood, making her both frustrating and strangely sympathetic.
For much of the story, you are immersed in Julie’s thoughts—and her mind is a rather peculiar place to be. It quickly becomes clear that something is not quite right, yet it is difficult to pinpoint exactly what that might be. You are left wondering whether Julie was simply born this way. But as more of her childhood unfolds, including the loss of her sister and the emotional neglect she experienced at home, it becomes difficult not to wonder how much those experiences shaped the person she became.
Overall, this was a funny and highly entertaining read, though one with a surprisingly tragic undercurrent. The author transforms a troubled and deeply lonely woman into a serial killer searching for love, understanding, and human connection—a desperate woman who simply wants to belong.
The pets felt a little over the top at times, which is ultimately why this settled at four stars rather than five for me. Even so, it remained a wonderfully entertaining and memorable read.

MR. AND MRS. DIXON HIDE A BODY
Daisy Dixon lives in a stately home, but the grandeur on the outside hides a leaking roof, dusty rooms and a failed marriage. But that isn’t the only thing she has to worry about now. On the night before she plans to leave her abusive husband, James, Daisy accidentally runs a man over, with James in the passenger seat beside her. But at her husband’s behest, instead of calling an ambulance, they take the man home.
When he dies, panic ensues, and the Dixon’s do what any sane couple bury him in the family mausoleum, on the grounds of their rickety, tumbledown estate.
And that’s where he lies, until a storm washes him out into the nearby village.
Her dreams of freedom postponed indefinitely, with James’ help, Daisy covers up the crime and together, they seem to be doing a good job of it, until she learns that James has helped the police with their inquiries, and blamed it all on her.
Two can play games, and Daisy is very good at winning. What was once a cover-up is now a race to prison, and Daisy will do anything to make sure James gets their first.
