Aaron Alexander has just been released from jail after serving eleven years for causing the death of Joshua Moore in a hit-and-run. Now a free man, all he wants to do is stay on the straight and narrow and leave his troubled past behind him.
But for Joshua’s mother, Evelyn, eleven years in jail isn’t nearly enough. Consumed by grief and rage, she has been waiting for Aaron’s release, counting down the days until she can exact the revenge he deserves. And now that time has come.
However, as Evelyn and her husband Tobias embark on a road trip to track Aaron down, they soon find themselves caught on two different sides of a gripping game of cat-and-mouse. Because Tobias knows what Evelyn is planning, and he will do anything to save her from herself. Even if it means protecting the man who killed their son.
Locked in a collision course set in motion eleven years ago, Aaron, Evelyn and Tobias are about to find out whether the road they have chosen leads to retribution… or redemption.

I have no idea why it has taken me this long to read Redemption. This is an absolutely gripping, emotionally charged thriller that had me hooked from the first page. This was a solid five-star read for me, one of those stories that digs deep and stays with you long after you’ve turned the final page.

The premise itself is heart-wrenching: Aaron Alexander has just been released from prison after serving eleven years for a hit-and-run that killed young Joshua Moore. All Aaron wants now is to rebuild his life quietly and make peace with the past. But Joshua’s mother, Evelyn, can’t let go of her grief — or her rage. She’s been waiting for this moment, counting down the years, determined to make Aaron pay. What follows is a tense, morally complex game of cat and mouse that had me completely gripped.

What I loved most about this book is how human it felt. The author digs deep into the emotional consequences of tragedy, guilt, and forgiveness. I found myself sympathising with all three main characters, even when their choices conflicted. Evelyn’s pain is raw and real, Tobias’s quiet desperation adds depth, and Aaron’s search for redemption is both heartbreaking and hopeful.

The pacing is perfect — taut, cinematic, and filled with moments that made me hold my breath. But beyond the suspense, Redemption is also a deeply moving story about grief, second chances, and the possibility of forgiveness when it feels impossible. Aaron’s story just broke my heart. (I am not sure if that is the correct response to a thriller.)

The writing is so immersive; every scene plays out vividly in your mind. The author has an incredible ability to make you question what you would do in the same situation — and that moral tension is what makes his work stand out.

If you love thrillers that combine emotional depth with edge-of-your-seat tension, Redemption is an absolute must-read. It’s powerful, thought-provoking, and beautifully written — a story that truly lives up to its title. There is no question, Redemption is my favourite Jack Jordan book!

CONVICTION

Wade Darling stands accused of killing his wife and teenage children as they slept before burning the family home to the ground. When the case lands on barrister Neve Harper’s desk, she knows it could be the career making case she’s been waiting for. But only if she can prove Wade’s innocence. A matter of days before the case, as Neve is travelling home for the night, she is approached by a man. He tells her she must lose this case or the secret about her own husband’s disappearance will be revealed. Failing that, he will kill everyone she cares about until she follows orders. Neve must make a choice – betray every principle she has ever had by putting a potentially innocent man in prison, or risk putting those she loves in mortal danger.
