It’s a school reunion to die for.
In a dingy pub, a high school reunion brings six old friends back together. As they catch up, painful memories surface, all centered around their mutual high school bully. King of the school, a handsome sporting superstar with a hidden cruel streak that made each of them miserable. The more they drink, the more a morbid plan takes shape, with everyone tossing in ideas for how they could get the ultimate form of revenge.
The next day, heads-pounding and hearts racing, they discover their school bully has been found dead- in an eerily similar way to their drunken plan.
When a message containing a recording of their conversation from the night before starts to circulate, the group knows they need to act, and fast. Who was listening to them? Who arranged the reunion? And, most importantly, who carried out their murderous plans? Before they can become the main suspects, the group will have to come together to clear their names, or risk going down for a murder they planned, but didn’t commit.

Okay, this one was an awesome read, full of surprises! Thank you to Anne Cater from Random Things Tours for inviting me to participate in this blog tour.
This thriller explores themes of abuse, manipulation, loyalty and the desire to uncover the truth. The author tells the story from multiple perspectives across a dual timeline, moving between the characters at sixteen and then again at thirty-six. There is plenty happening to keep you focused, and this is definitely not a book that will put you to sleep!
One of the things I enjoyed most was the character development. The author did a brilliant job of showing us who these characters were as teenagers, with all their dreams, ambitions, insecurities and youthful friendships, and then revealing who they had become twenty years later. Prom night clearly left its mark on all of them, but the way each character dealt with the events of that night, and how those experiences shaped their lives, made for an intriguing read.
I particularly enjoyed seeing how some of the old friendships, bonds and loyalties had survived the passage of time, even though the characters had not been in contact for twenty years. There is something fascinating about the idea that people who once knew everything about each other can spend decades apart, only to discover that the past is never quite as far behind them as they thought.
As the secrets begin to surface, the characters are forced to confront how little they really knew about the people they considered their closest friends. What did they miss back then? What was hidden behind those teenage friendships? And how much of what they believed about that night was actually true?
The contrast between first love at sixteen and how those same relationships look at thirty-six was another aspect I enjoyed. First love can feel so intense and all-consuming when you are young, but time, experience and the choices we make can change everything. Revisiting these relationships two decades later adds another layer to the story, especially when old feelings and unresolved questions come back into the picture.
The author sets the scene for an intriguing thriller and gradually draws you deeper into the characters’ lives, forcing them to confront their pasts and reveal secrets they may have preferred to keep hidden. Just when you think you are starting to understand what happened, another revelation shifts your perspective. The conclusion was not what I expected, and I enjoyed the surprises along the way.
This was a solid four-star read for me, and I raced through it much faster than I expected. The multiple perspectives and dual timeline kept me engaged, while the secrets and complicated relationships made it difficult to put the book down.
And when you finish, you might find yourself wondering about your own school friends. How well did we really know the people we spent so much time with? What secrets were they keeping, and how differently might we see them if we met again twenty years later?
An entertaining, twist-filled thriller that kept me guessing and reminded me that the past has a way of catching up with us!

SEVEN REASONS TO MURDER YOUR DINNER GUESTS
Three courses. Seven guests. One card. It’s a deadly evening they’ll never forget.
Seven strangers meet for an anonymously hosted dinner party. As the evening winds down, seven cards appear, one in front of each of the guests. On each card is a number – the age at which the guest will die. Spooked but skeptical, the guests disperse into the rainy night with the hope of forgetting the morbid turn of events.
Two weeks later, one guest is dead. At exactly the age the card predicted.
More guests begin to die as the years go on, each one dead at the same age as their card. It soon becomes clear that something much more sinister is abound. Now, it’s up to the quickly dwindling group of dinner guests to figure out who (or what) was behind that fateful dinner party all those years ago, before their numbers catch up with them too.
Told from the perspectives of each of the seven guests, which span from hilarious to hateful, Seven Reasons to Murder Your Dinner Guests is a spellbinding and mysterious exploration of mortality, begging the how would you live your life if you knew your number was up?
