Official Summary

As promised yesterday, today we’re chatting about The Perfect Divorce. This sequel picks up after the shocking events of The Perfect Marriage, so if you haven’t read the first book yet, be aware that this review contains major spoilers.
Sarah Morgan has moved on with her life. She has remarried, started a family with Bob, and appears to have everything she could want. But her seemingly perfect life begins to unravel when Bob has an affair.
For Sarah, there is no coming back from infidelity. She files for divorce, but Bob refuses to make the process easy. Then the woman Bob slept with is reported missing, and Bob becomes convinced that Sarah is somehow involved. He knows Sarah better than anyone and believes she is capable of far more than people realise—but proving it is another matter entirely. Even his own lawyer thinks his suspicions are outrageous.
The story quickly develops into a complex search for the truth. At the same time, new evidence emerges that casts doubt on Adam’s conviction, reopening old wounds and threatening to expose long-buried secrets. It’s a development that has enormous consequences for Sarah and raises the stakes even further.
Jeneva Rose once again delivers a gripping psychological thriller packed with tension and unexpected twists. Having read The Perfect Marriage, I found myself constantly questioning Sarah’s motives. She is such a fascinating character because, despite everything we know about her, Rose still manages to make you doubt your own assumptions. I kept wondering whether Sarah was really responsible for the disappearances or whether I was simply expecting the worst from her.
Part of me wanted to believe that Sarah would show more compassion towards the father of her daughter, yet another part couldn’t ignore how calculating she had proven herself to be in the past. That internal conflict made the mystery all the more compelling.
Once again, Rose delivers plenty of twists before bringing everything together in a satisfying and cleverly executed conclusion. Sarah Morgan remains one of the most memorable protagonists I’ve read in a long time—intelligent, ruthless, and always several steps ahead of everyone around her. She’s exactly the sort of character you love reading about, even if you’d never want to cross paths with her in real life.
This was another brilliant read, and it has convinced me that I need to work my way through the rest of Jeneva Rose’s backlist.

THE PERFECT MARRIAGE
‘Would you defend your husband if he was accused of killing his mistress?
Sarah Morgan is a successful and powerful defense attorney in Washington D.C. At 33 years old, she is a named partner at her firm and life is going exactly how she planned.
The same cannot be said for her husband, Adam. He is a struggling writer who has had little success in his career. He begins to tire of his and Sarah’s relationship as she is constantly working.
Out in the secluded woods, at Adam and Sarah’s second home, Adam engages in a passionate affair with Kelly Summers.
Then, one morning everything changes. Adam is arrested for Kelly’s murder. She had been found stabbed to death in Adam and Sarah’s second home. Sarah soon finds herself playing the defender for her own husband, a man accused of murdering his mistress.
But is Adam guilty or is he innocent?
