Meet Zelda
Hi, I’m Zelda, and I’m a book junkie.
I always have a book at hand—more often than not, I’m juggling an audiobook and a juicy paperback at the same time. I love the escape a good story offers that much.
I’m a wife and a mother to two daughters who have inherited my love for reading. I also run my own safari business, which allows me to work from home most of the time. But the real bosses of my household? My two fur-babies, Tinka and Norton—the wire-haired terrorists… I mean, terriers.
Once upon a time, I had a fellow book-junkie sister. We worked together, spent hours discussing books, and constantly swapped our latest finds and must-reads. But life happened, and we drifted apart. I miss our daily book ramblings, and that longing to share my latest literary treasures led me to start this blog. If you have a great book recommendation, I’d love to hear from you—I’m always on the lookout for my next read!
Now, let’s get one thing straight—I’m no literary genius. I don’t have a background in fiction, publishing, or writing. I’m just an everyday reader who loves getting lost in a great book and sharing my thoughts about it. If you’re looking for an honest recommendation for your next read, you’re in the right place.
I read an average of 10 books a month, including hard copies, ebooks, and audiobooks. I wouldn’t call myself a fast reader, but I make time for books every day. I also keep a reading journal that spans over a decade! One of my goals is to digitize it so I can share my bookish journey with you. If you’re curious about what I read and which authors keep me coming back for more, CLICK HERE for my reading list.
My go-to genre is psychological thrillers, but I enjoy branching out and exploring different genres. As long as it’s a gripping story that pulls me in, I’m happy. You’ll even find some Young Adult fiction sprinkled into my reading list—mainly because I can never say no when my daughters insist I read a book they loved.
If you have a book recommendation or would like me to review your book (please check my review policy), feel free to get in touch—I’d love to hear from you!
Oh, and don’t forget to sign up for my newsletter—I love reading way too much to clutter your inbox.
In Loving Memory...
TINKA
20 September 2017 to 11 November 2025
For eight wonderful years, you were by my side. You always made me smile with your incredible sense of humour and gave me more love than I could ever have imagined. Thank you for all the beautiful memories you’ve given me. Saying goodbye to you has been the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, but I know you’re in a better place now. You will be forever missed and will always remain in my heart. Rest in peace, my “littlest” love.
Stay up-to-date
