Official Summary

2020 has been a Lisa Gardner year for me. I have worked my way through fourteen of her books already and the year is not done yet. Her writing makes for easy reading and I find I enjoy her characters. The DD Warren series is without a doubt my favourite, but only because they are the ones that feature Flora Dane.

When You See Me was a Mother’s Day gift this year – my girls know me so well – a book featuring Flora Dane is always a winner.

This book takes Flora to the small town of Niche, Georgia where skeletal remains where found which are believed to be linked to Jacob Ness. Jacob Ness kept Flora captive in a coffin-sized box for four hundred and seventy-two days, but she killed him and escaped. Flora knows Jacob better than anyone and that is why she is asked to join the task force that will be investigating this cold case.

Flora who is still haunted by her time with Jacob Ness, carrying around some secrets of her forced involvement in his crimes. She believes that he had other victims and she will do anything to help bring closure to their families. This journey leads Flora to some discoveries about Jacob and his family.

This story introduces a new character, Bonita, a young girl who will steal your heart. Despite everything she has endured in her short life she is brave and courageous. She helps Flora and DD in their search for the truth.

This twisty-turny psychological thriller will rock you to the core. If you are looking for a book full of surprises to keep you up at night – then this is it.

Just for a change, I allowed this book to consume me, I managed to tune out everything around me every time I picked it up. That is always a sign of a good book for me, especially when I need to remind myself that it is fiction.

No surprise, I loved this book. Lisa Gardner keeps coming up with one brilliant read after the other – as mentioned I have consumed fourteen of her books this year – they just keep getting better.

Whether you are a regular Lisa Gardner fan, or if she is new to you, this book will keep you entertained from the first page. Trust me, get a copy!
