Two rivals. One holiday. A trip they will never forget.

Jo Watson returns with a hilarious and heartfelt new enemies-to-lovers, forced-proximity rom-com! It’s the book you won’t want to go on holiday without! Perfect for fans of Emily Henry, Beth O’Leary and Christina Lauren.

Journalist Margaret needs a vacation.

After a difficult couple of years, some R&R is on the cards, and she’s taking her mom with her. Luckily, the office Quiz Night is coming up and the prize is an all-expenses-paid trip to Zanzibar. Good thing Margaret has never met a quiz question she didn’t like.

But Margaret has also never played against Jagger Villain. For the last six months, they have shared a desk and not a day has gone by when he hasn’t driven her to distraction.

The idea of sharing anything else with Jagger is unthinkable. But if she’s going to get what she needs from this trip, Margaret might have to compromise.

Away from the office and in a tropical paradise, Margaret beings to wonder if her archnemesis maybe has some qualities.

Could the holiday from hell turn into the vacation of her dreams?

Official Summary

26 May 2023

This book is told from Margaret’s point of view. Margaret is a journalist and takes her job very seriously, unlike for deskmate, Jagger. (Yes that is his name, do I like it? No. Can I do anything about it? No.) She cannot stand Jagger and finds everything he does to be extremely annoying. However, when they both win an all-expenses-paid trip, they are forced to become a lot closer when Margret takes her recently widowed mother along and things don’t go as planned.

When I first picked up this book, I thought it would be the same old rom-com format but this book really dives into some serious topics, such as anxiety death and grieving a loved one.

The relationship that inevitably forms between Margaret and Jagger is cute. I think they did at times have some cringe moments but I was still rooting for them, start to finish. And I am a sucker for an ‘enemies to lovers’ troupe.

I loved Margaret’s mom, Anke, she was hilarious. I also loved her storyline and the relationship between the mother and daughter. I also loved Leighton as well. Margaret sadly was my least favourite character. Don’t get me wrong, there were times when I loved her, felt bad for her, and just wanted to hug her.  But those other times, I just wanted to wring her neck. I hated how she treated Jagger at times purely being prejudiced against him.

I also found the conversations between Lesego and Margaret to be completely unhinged and I loved it!

Overall “What Happens on Vacation” is a light-hearted, feel-good book I could not recommend more.

Love You, Love You Not

The glorious new standalone office rom-com from the author of the ebook bestseller Love to Hate You. Perfect for fans of Joanna Bolouri, Cate Woods and Sally Thorne.

There’s a fine line between love and hate…

Poppy Peterson is about to be evicted if she doesn’t pay her rent. She used to be an actress on a telenovela until her character, Ramona Gonzalez, Executive Administrative Assistant to the CEO, was killed off. Unfortunately, dead characters can’t pay the bills.

Ryan Stark is a tough boss – especially if you’re his assistant. He’s been through five in the last two months and now no one wants to work for him. He needs an assistant who can meet his demands. And he can be very demanding.

Poppy’s been an assistant before – well, on screen anyway. It can’t be that hard to do in real life, right?

Two things are for sure. Poppy is about to play the role of a lifetime. And Ryan is about to learn a whole new lesson about what’s really important in life.
