I could not believe it either. They say time flies when you are having fun, the two years since I started blogging sure have flown by, I guess that means that I’ve been having fun.
When I started blogging, I was unemployed, thanks to COVID and I needed a way to fill my time. Everyone told me that I would eventually get bored and give it up. Two years later, I have returned to work full-time, and still love every minute I spend on my blog.
I sat down before writing this and looked at all my blog statistics – not something I do very often – and what a surprise.
I posted my first-ever review on the 21st of October 2020 – it was for The Death of Mrs Westaway by Ruth Ware
Looking at that post now, it looks horrible – I would like to think that my blog layout has come a long way since then. (Please tell me you agree!) Since that first review, I have worked endlessly to keep improving.
On the 11th of November 2020 – Alicia made her first appearance with a review of Destroy Me by Tahereh Mafi. I loved that she wanted to get involved. At the time I was not sure if she would keep it up because up until 2020, she was not a big reader. Two years later, her reading interest has matured and we are sharing ‘some’ books and even doing the occasional buddy read together. There is nothing better than having a reading/blogging buddy that lives in the same house as you.
Here are the figures for the first two years:
- 189 Reviews Posted
- 121 Blog Tour Posts
- 56 Young Adult Reviews (Thanks to Alicia)
- 30 Other Bookish Posts
That means I have posted a total of 366 Book Reviews in the last two years – I have no idea how we managed to read so many books.
The most amazing part is that we have 2 228 followers on Instagram, we average 1.5K monthly views on Pinterest and our Twitter account is exploding with 3 181 followers!
I owe every person who has visited the blog during the last two years a huge thank you.
The blog has been about sharing the love of a good book and you guys have made me feel that love every day. Thank you for your support, I look forward to sharing more great reviews with you.
The last Thank You is to all the publishers, authors and blog tour organisers who have shared review copies with us – It would not have been nearly as much fun without you!
Now it’s time for a good book and a glass of wine to celebrate – until next time…. Happy Reading!
Congrats on the two year anniversary!
Thank you
