Now this was a wild ride! Amy Cunningham delivers a dark, stylish, and absolutely addictive thriller in The Serial Killer’s Party, a twisted revenge tale wrapped in the glitz and glamour of an ultra-exclusive event hosted in the isolation of Norway.

The setup is deliciously sinister: a luxurious party thrown by a charismatic billionaire with a dark past… and one guest who’s there not to celebrate, but to kill. From the moment our protagonist arrives, there’s an underlying sense of unease that creeps in and never lets up. Everyone’s smiling, but no one can be trusted. That tension builds page by page, and just when you think you’ve figured out the game, Cunningham throws in another curveball.

What I loved most was the atmosphere— elegant and threatening all at once. The setting becomes a character in its own right, amplifying the isolation and claustrophobia. It reminded me a bit of The Guest List meets Knives Out, but darker and far more personal.

The revenge plot is gripping, but it’s the psychological suspense that really stands out. The way Cunningham plays with perception—what’s real, what’s performance, who’s the predator and who’s the prey—keeps you on edge. I found myself second-guessing everyone’s motives, even the narrator’s. And once the body drops? Game on.

There were a couple of moments where I had to suspend disbelief, especially when it came to the logistics of the plan, but honestly, I didn’t mind. I was far too invested in the tension, the secrets, and the slow-burn realisation that the hunter may have just walked into someone else’s trap.

If you enjoy high-stakes thrillers with glamorous settings, hidden agendas, and a lead who’s as driven as she is vulnerable, this is one for your TBR. The Serial Killer’s Party is bold, intense, and full of deadly surprises—and I couldn’t look away.

A sharply written cat-and-mouse thriller with bite. Bring on the next Amy Cunningham book!
