Seventeen years old. Rich. Hot. Captain of the Drone War team. Head prefect of a surreally elite boarding school. Tremmy is dying.

His illness strips everything from him—including the support of his teachers and friends who once nurtured his bright future. Worst of all, his best friend’s meteoric rise has come at the expense of Tremmy’s spectacular fall. Far from going out with the bang he’d hoped for, Tremmy faces betrayal.

But his illness has the power to expose the best as well as the worst of his school, his friends, and himself. Tremmy sets out to prove that the community he loves has to overcome its fear of death in order to truly begin to live. And Tremmy receive the momentous end he so fervently desires.

Official Summary

A privileged rich kid dubbed Tremmy Sinclair is diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour and given only four to six months to live. He is given the choice of going on a round-the-world trip with his parents or returning to school after undergoing treatment. Tremmy decided to go to school. Ultimately, Tremmy will die with his friends by his side. But before he can do that, he has to convince the school, his parents, and his friends that he wants to die there. It isn’t going to be easy since they want to expel him. It is understandable that everyone is uncomfortable with the idea of death; in fact, Tremmy’s goal is to convince everyone to change their perspectives on death.

This book is not your run of the mill young adult read. It was raw, realistic and honest. I loved it. The amount of character growth throughout the whole book from just Tremmy himself was honestly so amazing. I loved how this author brought serious topics to light and how he did it. Most of the time in books when an author tries to address serious topics most of the time it comes off as forced. This was not the case with this book, it felt natural and flowed perfectly with the story.

My favourite character is Tremmy, of course, he is amazing. My least favourite character was Jenkins, every time he opened his mouth I felt like slapping him.

This book was a real rollercoaster of emotions. I kept having to take breaks from the book as it is extremely emotional.

I genuinely enjoyed this book, and I would recommend this book and not just for teenagers but adults as well.
