Enrol in this boarding school thriller about a group of prep school elites who would kill to get into the college of their dreams…literally.

Everyone knows the Ivies: the most coveted universities in the United States. Far more important are the Ivies. The Ivies at Claflin Academy, that is. Five girls with the same mission: to get into the Ivy League by any means necessary. I would know. I’m one of them. We disrupt class ranks, club leaderships, and academic competitions…among other things. We improve our own odds by decreasing the fortunes of others. Because hyper-elite competitive college admissions is serious business. And in some cases, it’s deadly.

Alexa Donne delivers a nail-biting and timely thriller about teens who will stop at nothing to get into the college of their dreams. Too bad no one told them murder isn’t an extracurricular.

Official Summary

29 May 2024

If you’re into YA thrillers with a college twist, you’ve got to check out “The Ivies” by Alexa Donne. It’s like “Gossip Girl” meets “How to Get Away with Murder” on an Ivy League campus.

You’ll follow Olivia as she tries to navigate the insane world of elite college admissions, where the competition is cutthroat and the stakes are sky-high. Think backstabbing, secrets, and scandal. I’m not going to lie the book started a bit slow however, once the ball started to roll I just could not put it down.

The book starts with a group of friends finding out about their Ivies applications and the group had a pact not to apply to each other’s schools to increase their odds to get in. However, when two girls break the rules everything goes wrong. One of the girls is our main character Olivia and the other winds up dead. Olivia teams up with her invertible love interest to solve the case the cops can’t.

I will say I changed my mind about a million times about who was guilty and sadly I did suspect the person at some point as it seemed a bit obvious however, I was suspicious of everyone.

I also have this book signed so that’s super cool. The author is well-known on YouTube, so it is awesome that I got to meet her in person.

Overall, if you’re looking for a fast-paced read that’ll keep you entertained for hours, grab yourself a copy of “The Ivies” ASAP. You won’t regret it!

Pretty Dead Queens

Seaview High’s homecoming queen is dead . . . and she’s not the first. A thriller about a decades-old mystery, a copycat killing, and the teen who won’t stop until she discovers the truth.

After the death of her mom (screw cancer), seventeen-year-old Cecelia Ellis goes to live with her estranged grandmother, a celebrated author whose Victorian mansion is as creepy as the murder mysteries she writes. On the surface, life is utterly ordinary in the California coastal town . . . until the homecoming queen is murdered. And she’s not Seaview’s first pretty dead queen.

With a copycat killer on the loose, Cecelia throws herself into the investigation, determined to crack the case like the heroines in her grandmother’s books. But the more Cecelia digs into the town’s secrets, the more she worries that her own mystery might not have a storybook ending.
