I should have known something was wrong.
I should have sensed it. Felt it in the air, like the build-up of pressure before a thunderstorm, that heavy, loaded calm.
The curfew
Andy and Laura are good parents. They tell their son Connor that he can go out with friends to celebrate completing his exams, but he must be home by midnight.
The lie
When Connor misses his curfew, it sets off a series of events that will change the lives of five families forever.
The truth?
Because five teenagers went into the woods that night, but only four came out. And telling the truth might mean losing everything…
WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Parenting is hard. From the moment your child is born you do everything you can to be good at it. To do the right thing for your child. However, all too soon the teenage years are upon you, and that perfect child seems to turn into a stranger. Yet, you know your child, you know what they are capable of. But what if things go wrong? How far will you go to protect your child, and at what cost? The Curfew is a gripping page-turner that will not disappoint. This book will have you flicking from page to page until the early hours as putting this book down is simply not an option.

This book was my introduction to T.M. Logan and it turned me into an instant fan. I have ordered some of his other books already, eagerly awaiting delivery as I am extremely keen on spending more time lost in this man’s writing. He draws you in and keeps you captivated with a gripping story that twists and turns from start to finish. I honestly lost track of time while reading this book. This author has a magic touch. I look forward to seeing if his other work is as entertaining. Reviewers across the globe seem to love his work, so I am looking forward to exploring all his books.

Andy and Laura Boyd have raised a good kid. At age sixteen, Connor is a reliable, trustworthy child. Sure, his bedroom is a mess and he lacks communication skills, but that’s normal for his age group. Isn’t it? When Zac, Andy’s nephew, does not come home after a party, Andy joins his brother, in searching for him. This is the start of a week from hell. When Andy discovers that Zac was asleep in Connor’s bed, and Connor cannot be found he is faced with a panic he has never imagined. A phone call from the police and the discovery of a missing girl leaves Andy and Laura on a whirlwind chase for the truth. Yet the more they find out, the more they realise they do not know everything about their son? Is Connor guilty of harming the missing girl? Struggling to uncover the truth, and facing horrible accusations Andy and Laura are determined to believe the best of their son, even if he refuses to confide in them, they will not believe he is guilty. He is their son, and they know who he is.

The Curfew explores every parent’s nightmare, what do you do when your child does not come home? What do you do when your child is accused of terrible actions? How far do you go to protect your child? What do you do when you are forced to question everything you believe about your child and your parenting skills? This book is a touching, emotional read that leaves you questioning if the job you have done as a parent has been good enough. I could not get enough of this story. This is a book you will not be able to drag yourself away from. Thank heavens for a cold, wet weekend and a fireplace – I am not sure I could have waited to see where this tale was going.

The characters in this book include a small community of people but focus on the parents of five teenagers. They are a unique group with colourful backstories. Connor annoyed me with his refusal to speak. His parents were trying to help him, yet this typical teenager would not work with them. As for Andy and Laura, they had a lot more patience than I would have had in the situation. I do not see myself allowing my child to simply walk away without speaking to me when there is so much at stake. I wanted to force this child to tell the truth. The tension and anxiety oozed off the pages of this book leaving me feeling Andy and Laura’s frustrations. The author brought this story to life with all the emotions, making it easy to lose myself as I turned page after page.

Yes, you guessed, this is another book that flew onto my loved list for 2022 and a very strong contender for my book of the month. I cannot wait to read more of T.M. Logan’s books. Oh boy, I just added more books to my TBR.

All parents, as well as anyone who enjoys a read-all-night thriller, should add this title to their TBR, you will not be disappointed when you reach for this edge-of-your-seat read. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to lose some sleep.

Trust Me

A child in danger. An impossible choice. Who do you trust?Ellen was just trying to help a stranger. That was how it started: giving a few minutes respite to a flustered young mother sitting opposite her on the train. A few minutes holding her baby while the mother makes an urgent call. The weight of the child in her arms making Ellen’s heart ache for what she can never have.

Five minutes pass. Ten.

The train pulls into a station and she is stunned to see the mother hurrying away down the platform, without looking back. Leaving her baby behind. Ellen is about to raise the alarm when she discovers a note in the baby’s bag, three desperate lines scrawled hastily on a piece of paper:

Please protect Mia
Don’t trust the police
Don’t trust anyone

Why would a mother abandon her child to a stranger? Ellen is about to discover that the baby in her arms might hold the key to an unspeakable crime. And doing the right thing might just cost her everything…
