Lexi Mazur is a depressed, alcoholic, pill-popper whose only joy has become her reality TV shows, often fantasizing that the people on TV are a part of her world. After her boyfriend Steve leaves her, she fixates on the show Socialites and its star Magnolia Artois, following every facet of the girl’s life on social media in the hopes of befriending and becoming more like her.

But stalking isn’t new to Lexi. She ultimately won over her ex, Steve, by following and manipulating every minute detail about him so he’d fall for her. In fact, she landed her other ex-boyfriend Jeremy in the same way. Being a pharma rep, she’s used to manipulation to get doctors to buy her drugs, along with the perk of saving pills for herself.

But what happens when the stalker gets stalked?

Recently, Lexi has felt someone watching her: in her apartment in Queens, at her job. At first, she thinks her mind’s playing tricks, but the watcher is behaving just like she would. And soon they begin leaving threatening clues like she starts to do to Magnolia once her obsession grows more dangerous. Is it one of her exes out for revenge? Her only real friend from childhood who she’s always had an unhealthy rivalry. A detective who may have figured her out. The reality star Magnolia trying to turn the tables. Or even someone she might not know?

Lexi learns the only way to beat her stalker is to use her own stalking prowess to outsmart them at their own game. But has she finally met her match?

Official Summary

Stalker Staked digs into the obsession people have with reality TV, how it can affect your day to day life and explores just how healthy it is for people to become obsessed with these reality stars. The character in this book has a range of dependencies – alcohol, drug and a tendency towards stalking. When reaching for this book you can expect a rather troubling read as you are thrown headfirst into Lexi’s world.

The author managed to place the reader directly into the head of a very troubled young woman. As you read you find yourself experiencing life from the perspective of a drunk, pill-popping Lexi whose actions are not exactly healthy or sensible. I found myself feeling a little disoriented while reading this, which I am sure is exactly how Lexi felt most of the time.

When Lexi’s boyfriend dumps her, she spirals even deeper into a drug-induced world where she is obsessed with Reality TV star Magnolia. She is convinced that by stalking the star she can become friends with her. Juggling her drug and alcohol consumption, stalking Magnolia and keeping her job as a pharma rep becomes a challenge. Until she starts feeling like someone is watching her. Does she have a stalker of her own or are the pills she is popping causing her to imagine things. Who is watching her?

Stalker Stalked keeps you on the edge of your seat as the author drops you Lexi’s troubled mind. While reading you are convinced the character is simply high and imagining things. I was in awe that this woman could function at all with the number of drugs and alcohol she worked through. One thing this book highlighted beautifully is the character’s obsession with Reality TV. I was left relieved that I am not a Reality TV fan.

The author was amazingly creative with his creation of Lexi. He captured this troubled woman amazingly. As you read the story you are left reeling with the drug-induced highs and lows Lexi goes through. Your heart breaks for her as her dependency takes over her life.

This book was an unusual read that left me thankful for never developing a drug or alcohol dependency – or becoming obsessed with Reality TV. I was left exhausted at the end of this book. However, I feel the author created a tale that leaves you experiencing the life of a drug dependant person. I would consider having my teenagers read this book just to demonstrate why drug and alcohol dependency is not a good idea.

This psychological thriller has enough twists to leave you with whiplash. It is dark and crafty and guaranteed to keep you turning the pages as you race to find out how it will end.
