I’m saving you, six.

With his world unravelling around him, and pressure rising at home, Joey Lynch’s life has never been in more turmoil. Desperate to prove himself worthy of the only person he’s ever put his trust in, Joey fights to stay away from a world that threatens to destroy everything. But with the odds stacking against him by the day, can he keep his head above water?

Unwilling to give up on the boy she loves, Aoife Molloy fights to save her best friend from the edge of self-destruction. Drowning in a world she doesn’t understand, with only her heart to guide her, Aoife refuses to turn her back on Joey, no matter how badly the odds are stacked against them.

Through heartbreak and horror, Aoife and Joey have had each other’s backs, and this time is no different. Come what may.

Official Summary

04 March 2024

This book was massive yet way too short. This is the fourth book in the Boys of Tommen series and the second book of Joey and Aoife’s story. I genuinely cannot explain how much of an emotional rollercoaster this book was. There were times when I had to force myself to put it down just for my sanity.

Watching Joey destroy himself throughout this book and still have Aoife stand by him was so sad. I think something that made it even sadder is that you know what Shannon thought of Joey. In Binding 13 you see how much she loves her brother. You also see that she believes he is off of drugs however in Redeeming 6 you realise that Joey just got better at hiding his problems from everyone and how he thought no one needed him and it was just heartbreaking, no other way of putting it.

I also loved the friendship that was formed between Joey and Lizzie and all I am saying is if Lizzie does not get her own book, I will start a riot. She seems like such a misunderstood character and I would love to see more of her.

I also enjoyed the snip bits of Johnny and Joey’s friendship we saw and Gibsie’s character interaction we got with Joey. Gibsie will always be a hilarious character.

Aoife’s struggles in this book were also sad to watch and honestly, I feel like she could have had a bit more focus towards the end I hope she also gets therapy as well as she went through so much as well with Joey as well as his family and her own. Kevin was just terrible to her. I mean I cannot believe not only was her brother so cruel to her, but her twin. Overall I think everyone in this book needs a big shot of therapy.

I could not recommend this book any more. It is hand down the best book I have ever read and I do not say that lightly. I cannot see any book coming close to this book this year. I think it might be my book of the year however I look forward to being proved wrong.

I cannot wait until, the 16th of April 2024, to get my hands of Taming 7. This is Claire and Gibsie’s story and I cannot wait!
