March in a Nutshell

That's a Wrap!

We have reached the end of the first quarter of 2022. This year has started with some brilliant reading and the new authors I have been introduced to have been simply mind-blowing. So far this year we have added 37 new reviews to the blog, 20 of those have been blog tours, and all of them have been brilliant reads.

I would like to thank you for supporting the blog and I hope you have found a few new authors to add to your TBR. Please remember to drop us a line if you enjoyed any of the books we suggested.

If you missed any of our March reviews, here is a quick recap:

02 March – The Gypsie Killer by Angela Dandy

4/5

I am not sure what I expected when I picked up this book, but I found myself quickly intrigued. This is a book that covers some pretty harsh topics and leaves you with a happy ending that is almost too good to be true. There are a few messages in this story and as you reach the final page you will be reminded not to judge a book by its cover. This story is about family, loss and obsession.

07 March – Burning Bright by Michele Kwasniewski

4/5

This book was very interesting, I found myself thinking about it a lot. I think it is because it is a world I know nothing about. I also think of how many teenagers are in the entertainment industry today who probably have similar experiences to Dani.

08 March – The Killing Kind by Jane Casey

4/5

This is a book that will have you sitting up straight and paying attention. I completely lost myself in this brilliant thriller. It is a sharp, creative story filled with detail and a wonderful twist at the end. The legal angle you are drawn into as you lose yourself in Ingrid’s world is fantastic.

09 March – Fair Game by R D Nixon

4/5

This is the second book in the series, and while I have not read the first book, I still enjoyed this gripping, unpredictable read. You can expect a read that will keep you focused as this story about family and secrets keeps you flipping the pages. There are a lot of characters and you are guaranteed to find someone in this book you will like. The basis for this story is how far will you go to protect your children, with murder and mystery added to the mix ensuring you never face a dull moment.

10 March – The Golden Couple by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen

5/5

If like me, you are new to this writing duo, I suggest that you prepare yourself to be blown away. The Golden Couple is an edge of your seat psychological read that will keep you awake while you refuse to put this book down. I could not drag myself away from this one, even reading at the office during every spare second. I cannot wait to say this: “I LOVED this book”

11 March – Sparks and Shadows by Ceara Nobles

4/5

Sparks and Shadows is such an awesome book. It honestly had me hooked from the first line in the book. It made me wish I had the time to read more. I sadly have been consumed by school and just haven’t been able to read as much as I would like. Don’t get me wrong it might have taken me a while to finish this one however it is a fast read.

16 March – Faceless by Vanda Symon

4/5

What a terribly sad story! Maybe that is not the best way to start a review, but this is an emotional, horrible story. The author drops you into the mind of a seriously deranged individual while telling this heartbreaking story. I simply loved it.

18 March – The Inheritance Game by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

5/5

This book is amazing, truly. It had me on the edge of my seat throughout this whole book. I loved the mystery in this book.

Avery Grambs is a girl who is seriously struggling in life but that all changes when she gets told she was written into Tobias Hawthrone’s will. A billionaire. However, she only gets the money if she lives in the Hawthorne mansion for a whole year.

21 March – River Clyde by Simone Buchholz

Facing an empty page as I start to write this review, I have to say I am filled with trepidation. This book is unlike anything I have read before and I am not sure that I can adequately describe this book. When you reach for this book, you can expect a kind of surreal dreamscape rather than your typical crime novel.

22 March – Dog Rose Dirt by Jen Williams

5/5

I have been dying to read this one. I saw this book all over social media so it was awesome to receive a review copy from NetGalley. This is a gripping read that will have you reading late into the night!

23 March – Nasty Little Cuts by Tina Baker

4/5

I received this review copy from Jonathan Ball Publisher and what a fabulous read. This book is a horrifying, dark story that will keep you reading late into the night. I loved this one. And the pretty pink spin on this one is a stunning addition to my bookshelf.

25 March – In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware

4/5

This book has been collecting dust on my bookshelf for far too long. I always enjoy Ruth Ware and I am glad that I finally found the time for this one. I enjoy the whodunnit mystery and Ruth Ware does it beautifully. This book is worth checking out if you haven’t read it yet.

29 March – Remember Me – Charity Norman

4/5

What an emotional read. This was my first encounter with Charity Norman and I cannot wait to spend more time reading her books. This book drops you into the lives of two families in a small community, shows the effects of Alzheimer’s and the struggle of one woman to do the right thing. I loved this book.

BOOK OF THE MONTH

My book of the month was an easy choice this month. The Golden Couple by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen easily stole the spotlight. I loved this book and highly recommend that you add it to your TBR.

Thank you for your continued support and all the time you spend visiting the blog. I hope you enjoyed our reviews this month and that you have added some of these brilliant reads to your TBR. Until next time….. Happy Reading!
