Thank you to Jonathan Ball Publishers for this unique review copy.

This book is so far out of my comfort zone, but what a fabulous read. I have no idea what about this book appealed to me, but I sure am glad that I added this one to my wishlist. This is not the genre I would normally select, yet I found this book extremely entertaining.

This is a clever, creative story that will leave you wondering about it days after you read the last page.

I am new to this author. Her writing is clever and entertaining with a touch of humour. This might not be my genre of choice, yet I found myself completely engrossed and battled to drag myself away from this story. I am happy to say that I have already ordered a copy of Missing Person. I enjoyed the author’s work that much.

This is an Impossible love story – or maybe not quite a love story. Two people connected by a misdirected email have an instant connection. They feel as if they have known each other forever. Yet, things are not that simple and this perfect connection turns out to be impossible.

I found myself flying through this book. It is both clever and funny. While I was left way out of my comfort zone, I found I could not read fast enough. This unusual story will leave you with food for thought as the author looks at the ease with which we form online relationships while touching on all that is wrong with our world.

The characters in this book are brilliant. Bee and her serial dating left me grateful that I am happily married and do not need to endure the dating torture. As for Nick, this author with his quick wit left me smiling. The balance between these two characters was beautifully crafted.

This, unusual for me, read managed to make me smile while also reminding me that our world is in trouble and that we all need to do our bit. The author won me over with this book, and I am eager to read more of her work. There is no doubt that this book will be added to my loved list for 2022.

If you are keen on a story that is not quite a love story, with some humour and a deeper message, then this is the book for you.

Missing Person

Reclusive bookseller Shaun Ryan has always believed that his uncle Teddy died in a car accident twenty years ago. Then he learns the truth: Teddy fled his home in Catholic, deeply conservative County Wicklow, Ireland, for New York and hasn’t been heard from since. None of Shaun’s relatives will reveal why they lied about his uncle’s death or why they want Shaun to leave the whole affair alone.

But Shaun has a burning need to find out the truth. His search is unsuccessful until he’s contacted by Chris Guzman, a woman who runs a website dedicated to matching missing-persons cases with unidentified bodies. Chris and her team of cold-case obsessives suspect that Shaun is looking for the “Boy in the Dress,” one victim in a series of gay men murdered by the same killer.

But who are these internet fanatics really, and how do they know so much about a case that has stumped police for decades? Soon armchair sleuths and professional investigators are on a collision course with a sadistic serial killer who’s gotten away with his crimes for far too long – and now they’re in his sights.
