This book stole my heart. I could not read this fast enough. You can expect an intriguing read with this. The characters all seem to be hiding something and when the final twist brings this tale home, you too will be keen to read more books by this author.

How far will you go to protect your child? But what if you see a child in trouble? Will you try to help that child? How far will you go? MQ Webb explores those questions with this gripping tale. I found myself quickly engrossed and eager to keep reading. I raced through this book in two days and found myself wishing there was more when I reached the final page.

The author tells a harsh, dark tale that will leave you looking at people a little differently. I loved the characters and their emotions – or in some cases their lack of emotion. The author included a lot of interesting titbits about psychopaths and left me curious to the point where I want to know about this fascinating condition.

Four-year-old Mia Edwards disappeared from Jessica Green’s house while she is visiting for a playdate – the media are quick to point a finger at Jessica. Even her friends doubt her innocence. The local police are convinced she is guilty too. Especially after they believe she got away with attempting to kill her husband. Jessica choices to remain silent. She will not say anything, convincing everyone of her guilt – but there is no evidence.

Dr Oscar de la Nuit knows what it is like to be falsely accused of terrible actions. Determines that by getting Jessica to open up, he can find the lost child and atone for the sins of his past. However, when Jessica arrives at ….. trouble soon follows. Can Oscar undercover the truth? When Jessica finally starts to speak he is not sure if he should believe her. His colleagues are convinced that he is too close to be objective. But what is Jessica is telling the truth?

This book left me amazed at the creativity of this author. I loved the way she crafted a brilliantly gripping story based on the disappearance of a child. I loved the characters and found the look at psychopaths interesting.

Jessica Green is troubled. From the start of the book, you spend a lot of time in this woman’s head and something feels a little off. She is anxious and socially uncomfortable. Yet, there is no doubting her love for her daughter. Jessica will do anything for Zoe.

The more time you spend with this woman the more you understand her motivations. As the story unfolds you are given the chase to get to know her. The author did a marvellous job revealing the different sides to Jessica – she is a character that will remain in your thoughts for a while. Especially because the other women in her life are so far from perfect.

There is no doubt that How to Spot a Psychopath has secured a place on my loved list for 2022. Psychological thriller fans will find this book to be an intriguing, gripping read with twists and turns that are guaranteed to keep you entertained right up to the very last page.

Go ahead, add this title to your TBR, I highly recommend that you give this one a try!
