New Releases:
There are loads of wonderful titles being released this month. Here are a few I am looking forward to and hope to get my hands on:
The Burning Girls by CJ Tudor
This one will be hitting the South African Book stores this month and I am really looking forward to this. I have read all CJ Tudor’s book so far and I cannot wait to sink my teeth into this one.
Blurb: Welcome to Chapel Croft. For Rev. Jack Brooks and teenage daughter Flo it’s supposed to be a fresh start. New job, new home. But, as Jack knows, the past isn’t easily forgotten. And in a close-knit community where the residents seem as proud as they are haunted by Chapel Croft’s history, Jack must tread carefully. Ancient superstitions as
well as a mistrust of outsiders will be hard to overcome. Yet right away Jack has more frightening concerns. Why is Flo plagued by visions of burning girls? Who’s sending them sinister, threatening messages? And why did no one mention that the last vicar killed himself?
The Dare by Lesley Kara
This is another one of those authors you can depend on for a guaranteed good read and The Dare promises another twisty read.
Blurb: When friends Lizzie and Alice head off for a walk in the countryside, they are blissfully unaware that this will be their final day together – and that only Lizzie will come back alive. Lizzie has no memory of what happened in the moments before Alice died, until twelve years later, when long-buried memories suddenly start surfacing. Is the trauma of the accident finally catching up with her, or could someone be trying to threaten her new-found happiness? Twelve years is a long time to wait when you’re planning the perfect revenge… The twisty new thriller from the author of The Rumour.

The Sanatorium by Sarah Pearse
This debut novel has had Twitter going crazy – I cannot wait to read this and see what all the hype is about. So, this one is on my March Wishlist for sure.
Blurb: An isolated hotel, recently converted from an abandoned sanatorium, is the setting for this chilling debut. When Elin Warner receives an invitation out of the blue to celebrate her estranged brother’s engagement, she has no choice but to accept. Arriving in the midst of a storm, Elin immediately feels on edge. And when they wake the following morning to discover Isaac’s fiancée Laure has vanished without a trace, Elin’s unease grows. With the storm cutting off access to and from the hotel, the longer Laure stays missing, the more the remaining guests start to panic. Dripping with suspense.
Who is Maude Dixon by Alexandra Andrews
Releasing 04 March
This is an author I haven’t read before, but this blurb ticks all my boxes.
‘Clever, cunning, and diabolical in the best possible way. Anyone longing for a good old-fashioned thrill need look no further’ Ann Patchett
Blurb: Florence Darrow wants to be a writer. Correction: Florence Darrow IS going to be a writer. Fired from her first job in publishing, she jumps at the chance to be assistant to the celebrated Maud Dixon, the anonymous bestselling novelist. The arrangement comes with conditions – high secrecy, living in an isolated house in the countryside. Before long, the two of them are on a research trip to Morocco, to inspire the much-promised second novel. Beach walks, red sunsets and long, whisky-filled evening discussions…win-win, surely? Until Florence wakes up in a hospital, having narrowly survived a car crash.
How did it happen – and where is Maud Dixon, who was in the car with her? Florence feels she may have been played, but wait, if Maud is no longer around, maybe Florence can make her mark as a writer after all…
Every Last Fear by Alex Finlay
Releasing 02 March – this one sounds brilliant and I look forward to reading this.
Blurb: ‘Prepare yourself for twist after exciting twist. A standout novel plotted with surgical precision’ KARIN SLAUGHTER
Keep your family close, because your enemies are closer.
Student Matt Pine has just received devastating news. Nearly his entire family have been found dead while holidaying in Mexico. The local police claim it was an accident, but the FBI aren’t convinced – and they won’t tell Matt why.
The tragedy thrusts his family into the media spotlight again. Matt’s older brother, Danny – serving a life sentence for murdering his teenage girlfriend – was the subject of a viral true crime documentary claiming Danny was wrongfully convicted. Yet Matt’s never been certain of his brother’s innocence.
Now his family’s murder is overlapping with Danny’s case, Matt is determined to uncover the truth behind the crime that sent his brother to prison – putting his own life in danger and forcing him to confront his every last fear.
The Lake by Louise Sharland
Releases on 18 March
I had the privilege of an ARC on this one and what an awesome read. My review was posted in February you can read it here.
Blurb: The truth lies just beneath the surface…
Kate’s world falls apart when her teenage son drowns in the waters by his school. She’s convinced it wasn’t just a tragic accident, but no one will listen.
Then, six years later, Kate unearths Michael’s lost diary and realises she may finally be able to uncover what really happened that night.
But as she delves deeper, she begins to realise that she didn’t really know her son – or the people in his life – at all. And that, sometimes, secrets are better left submerged…
I am excited for a busy March, with lots of “new to me authors”, blog tours and reviews and books guaranteed to provide an escape from reality. What more could I ask for?
I hope you enjoy everything that I have headed your way. What book are you excited about reading this month? Leave a comment below. Until next month….. Happy reading!
