Hive Book Review

By Jeremiah Ukponrefe

The Collective military has spent its years destroying the last remnants of The Hive, an alien force that devastated the old world. bringing forth the apocalypse, and ushering a new age of warring factions.

Alexander King is a Collective soldier who during a mission monitoring the outskirts of Zone 6, discovers evidence that the Hives presence is stronger than commonly believed. With his new information, it becomes vital that The Collective acts fast, for if they don’t the world will be brought to its knees again in a wave of destruction that will end humanity forever.

Official Summary

A new world where there is an alien force, a full-blown apocalypse and people divided into factions, some friendly and some not so friendly.

This book was so much fun to read. I enjoyed all the action in this book. There is never a dull moment as there is constantly a new twist and turn on every page.

This book is told from the third person perspective which normally isn’t my favourite but the author genuinely makes it work in this book.

I like how you immediately get thrown right into this book, making you want to read more to slowly figure out what happened. Although I like how the information is told to us, I would have enjoyed more information. Not just on the alien invasion but also on the characters themselves. I sadly didn’t have any strong feelings towards any of the characters in the book. I felt that they could have had a little more depth to them which would make them easier to relate to.

My favourite character would definitely be David. He was the character I was the most curious about. I would have loved to know so much more about him. I would have liked to know what he was like before the alien invasion.

Although the ending is somewhat predictable, it is still enjoyable.

As a dystopian fiction lover, I really liked the book it was a quick read that had you on the edge of your seat. I would recommend everyone to get their hands on this book as soon as possible.

I’d like to thank the author for providing me with an e-copy in exchange for my honest review.
