SOMEONE ALWAYS TAKES THINGS TOO FAR…
No-one knows you better than your family.
They know the little things that make you smile. Your proudest achievements. Your darkest secrets.
Sure, you haven’t always been best friends.
But if it seemed as though someone was after you, that you might be in danger, then you’d be on each other’s side.
Right?
So gripping you won’t stop reading.
So twisty that you won’t know who to trust.
And so dark that you’ll realise something truly chilling:
No-one is more dangerous than the ones who know you best.

Official Summary

I have read Samantha Downing’s other books and loved them, so I was looking forward to digging into this one. Where do I start? This book is true to Samantha Downing’s style and will leave your head spinning. She twists and turns through the story leaving you glued to the edge of your seat from the first page to the last. This is a brilliant read that takes you on a two-week road trip, sharing sights and food along the way.

This author draws you into her character’s mind allowing you to share their thoughts. This book has the character telling you a story as you read. I was not sure about that to start with, but it was done beautifully. While reading this book you feel as if the character is chatting with you. I loved this.

A family road trip is supposed to be fun. But what happens when siblings share a secret they can never share? A secret that leaves them trusting no-one, especially not each other. The Morgan Siblings are repeating a road trip from their childhood – because their grandpa insisted on it. If they do not complete the road trip and they do not scatter grandpa’s ashes at the final destination, they do not inherit the money he left behind. Who do you trust when you cannot trust your siblings?

This is a complex story that was so full of twists and turns I was glued to my seat. I raced through this book eager to understand what was happening. I loved this road trip. The author did a brilliant job selecting stops along the way and sharing details on each one that left me feeling as if I was in the car with the Morgan siblings.

No-one is who they appear to be in this book. Each character had his or her own agenda and ultimately, they all wanted the money. They say money is the root of all evil, but these characters take it to a completely new level. I enjoyed getting to know these characters and loved how each one managed to surprise me.

There is no doubt – this book has been added to my loved list – even if I am a little late to the party reading this one. It’s a fantastically entertaining read that leaves your head spinning. I cannot wait to get my hand on a copy of Samantha Downing’s next book, A Twisted Love Story which is due later this year.

If you enjoy a very twisty story that will keep your mind spinning while trying to figure it out, then this is the book for you. You will not be left disappointed by this one. But be warned, once you open this book, you will not want to put it down.

For Your Own Good

Teddy Crutcher has won Teacher of the Year at the esteemed Belmont Academy, home to the best and brightest.
He says his wife couldn’t be more proud—though no one has seen her in a while.
Teddy really can’t be bothered with the death of a school parent that’s looking more and more like murder or the student digging a little too deep into Teddy’s personal life. His main focus is on pushing these kids to their full academic potential.
All he wants is for his colleagues—and the endlessly meddlesome parents—to stay out of his way.
It’s really too bad that sometimes excellence can come at such a high cost.
