Lindy once had the world at her feet. An adoring husband, two beautiful daughters and a successful career.

In a split second, a tragic accident causes Lindy’s world to come crashing down around her.

Mia, a personal fitness trainer and glamorous wife of a local tv personality seem to have everything.

Slowly Lindy learns more about Mia’s perfect life and becomes convinced that they are each other’s saviours.

As obsessions grow and the lines that shape reality become blurred, Lindy’s and Mia’s lives are now forever dangerously intertwined as personalities merge.

Official Summary

Be ready to read through the night as you reach for this book. Guilty is a gripping psychological thriller you will not want to put down before you reach the very last page.

Two women who are hurt and angry, and when they join forces create an explosive partnership that leads to a jaw-dropping conclusion.

The author created two everyday women who struggle their way through daily life. Only both women are consumed by anger. Sadie Ryan takes you on a journey into these women’s lives and allows you to spend time in each woman’s mind. Experiencing their emotions first-hand while the truth about their lives are slowly revealed leaving you shocked as you turn the pages.

Lindy had the perfect life until an accident turns her work upside down, leaving her consumed by anger and a need for revenge. Mia’s life appears perfect, she has a loving family and a husband that adores her, but she has a secret which she would protect at all costs.

When Mia and Lindy cross paths, these two women find their lives quickly intertwined and their friendship ends in a disastrous conclusion.

Guilty features two mothers who each have two daughters. Having two daughters myself, it was easy for me to understand these characters and how they felt. It made this book a gripping read that I raced through eager to see how it would end. I can say I never predicted this ending.

The author did a fantastic job with the characters in this book. Lindy is an angry woman who shows her anger at every turn. As her story is revealed you understand her need to lash out. She needed someone to blame, and when she reveals that she blames herself more than anyone else I found my heart just broke for her.

Mia was a little more difficult to figure out. I battled with her reasoning at times, and just when I decided I understood her choices she goes and surprises me all over again. She is a damaged woman and as the story unfolds you start to see just how badly she needs help.

Ricky, Mia’s husband is quite the character, his actions simply leave you amazed as you read this book. I found it hard to believe that someone like him could be out in the world and he did not come across as realistic. While I found his extreme behaviour added to the reading pleasure of this book.

By the time I read the final page I found my heart breaking for Frank. He plays a rather small part in the story but turns out to be the one character who probably suffered the most.

This book was not what I expected. It was full of surprises, and I loved how I did not see the conclusion coming. Yep, this one has been added to my love list for 2021 and I look forward to the opportunity to read more books by Sadie Ryan. She has a wickedly creative imagination that makes her writing brilliant reading material.

Starting this book, I was reminded of Michael Robotham’s book, The Secrets That She keeps, a book I added to my top ten in 2020. If you enjoyed that book, you would find that Guilty simply consumes you. Guilty will appeal to psychological fiction fans as well as readers who enjoy women’s fiction.

Guilty is dark and full of surprises so be prepared to read late into the night because you will not be able to put this book down. It’s a brilliantly gripping read you would not want to miss out on.

Author bio from the publisher

Sadie Ryan is the author of three books. Her latest, Guilty came out in April 2021, a psychological thriller. She loves animals and lives in leafy Cheshire in the North West of England with her daughter and rescue dog. When not writing she spends her time reading, gardening, walking her dog or watching old black and white movies.

When asked where she gets her ideas from, she says, ‘From observation, inspiration and lots of wicked thoughts.’
