The tyrannous Huntsmen have declared everyone in one village to be outlaws since they insist on supporting the magical beings of neighbouring Darkwood. Why won’t they accept that magic is an abomination?

Far from being abominable, the residents of Darkwood are very nice when you get to know them, even Snow the White Knight, who can get a bit tetchy when people remind her she’s a Princess.

To stop the Huntsmen from wiping out all magical beings, Snow and her friends have to venture into the Badlands of Ashtrie, and seek the support of the Glass Witch – but she has plans of her own, and let’s just say they’re not good ones.

Official Summary

I adored this book. I loved the nod to different fairy-tale characters.

Overall the book was well written. Although there was a lot of characters it surprisingly wasn’t that hard to keep up with the story and remember all the characters. I think it is because all these characters are all so memorable. From Trevor, a sassy spider who has a hat collection to Hex a half-man/raven and a former king in a magic mirror.

My favourite character would have to be Snow the White Knight. I loved the modern twist on the character. I loved the kick ass character that we got. I liked how this character is so much stronger and braver compared to the original Snow White.

I also loved Gretal. Normally the younger characters in books annoy me but I find that wasn’t the case with thirteen-year-old Gretal. I loved that she was an inventor and how creative she was.

I really like how the book focused on relationships and friendships. I loved Snow and Buttercup, Jack and Hex and my personal favourite Trever and Scarlett.

I honestly couldn’t put the book down. I liked how well paced it was and how unique the plot was.

I would say this book is for any ages. I would definitely recommend this book as a quick easy read.
