They say you are never too old to learn. Well, today I discovered that a little kitchen cleaner and a damp cloth can give an old-looking paperback a new lease on life. My copies of Panic and Fear looked terrible, but now both are almost s white as the day they were printed. If I can find a cure for yellowing pages, you wouldn’t guess how old these are.

I decided to tackle my archive reviews in alphabetical order, so after writing my review on Panic, the next book in line is Fear… sadly my reading journal did not prove helpful with this book. Skimming the book did bring it all crashing back.

Fear tells the story of an experimental drug for the treatment of PTSD that everyone wants. When the formula for ‘FROST’ disappears the subsequent hunt results in a frantic search involving PTSD sufferers, psychiatrists, pharmaceutical representatives, governmental agents and individuals eager for the financial gain this formula will secure.

At the centre of it all, is Miles Kendrick who is haunted by the fact that he killed his best friend. While in witness protection, his psychiatrist is murdered and Groote (ex-FBI agent turned hitman) is after him.

Groote will do anything to get his hands on ‘Frost’ while the drug might not have been fully tested, he knows it will help his daughter who suffers from PTSD.

This book is a fast-paced read that is full of action. You can expect intrigue, mayhem, double-crosses, deceit, duplicity, torture and murder when you reach for this pacy read.

Panic

Things are going well for young filmmaker Evan Casher — until he receives an urgent phone call from his mother, summoning him home. He arrives to find her brutally murdered body on the kitchen floor and a hitman lying in wait for him.
It is then he realises his whole life has been a lie. His parents are not who he thought they were, his girlfriend is not who he thought she was, his entire existence has been an ingeniously constructed sham. And now that he knows it, he is in terrible danger. Evan’s only hope for survival is to discover the truth behind his past.
