Official Summary

So this book follows a young girl, Bridget, who becomes obsessed with a girl who moves next door, Veronica. This book is fast-paced and so extremely heart-breaking.

This book had me screaming at the main characters. I think purely because you want them to do something. Or even tell someone what is going on. At first, I truly thought all the characters were terrible people. Then I realised I had luckily never been in that situation before. So there is no telling what I would do. I mean they truly felt that doing or saying something would just make it worst. I mean we would all like to say we would do the right thing but you never know until you are in the same situation. Not to mention Bridget and Danny are both just teenagers so you can’t hold them to the same standards you would an adult.

I will say I liked the relationship between Bridget and Danny. However, their relationship did move quite quickly.

I think the saddest part of this book was having people just watch Veronica disintegrate. Watch as people just ignore all her cries for help. The poor girl just needed someone to care about her. She honestly deserved better.

Words could not explain how much I disliked Jamie. He is the villain of the story so you are supposed to hate him. I think what scares me the most is the fact that there really are people like Jamie and so many get away with it.

However, I will say that the plot twist at the end is overused in many books, but I truly did not see that coming. It took me by surprise and honestly had my jaw on the ground.

My only complaint about this book is that there are characters named, Jedd, Jamie and Jasper. Nothing wrong with the names, it’s just that they are all similar so I had a hard time keeping up with who was who.

Overall I would recommend this book, it is upsetting, slightly disturbing and tragic.
