Colleen Hoover has done it again. She has taken my heart and ripped it into a billion little pieces. This is only my second CoHo book of the year, which I can’t believe as we are almost halfway through the year.

This book was beautifully written, it’s a CoHo book so I did not expect anything less. The story follows Quinn a woman who is struggling with infertility and this leads to a struggle with depression and causes a rift in her marriage with Graham. The story shows ‘Then’ and ‘now’. The ‘then’ is when they were both in their twenties and they had just met and started their relationship. The ‘Now’ is seven years into their marriage with them struggling with infertility and trying to keep their marriage afloat.

This book was genuinely soul-crushing. I thought ‘It ends with us’ made me sad but somehow this book just struck a chord in me. At the beginning of the book, I could not stand the ‘now’ chapters as they were so depressing. However, towards the end of the book, I found the ‘then’ chapters to be almost more heart-breaking. As they started to talk about their future together and their plans, which was terrible because we knew they weren’t going to get that.

The characters were written so well, they were realistic lovable characters. I will say at times I one hundred percent wanted to yell at both Quinn and Graham as most of their problems could have been resolved if they had just talked to each other. But again it is realistic.

I also loved the other relationships in this book. I loved the relationship between Quinn and her sister Ava. I liked how close Graham was to his family. Oh and also Quinn’s mother was the worst like damn I’m glad that lady is not my mother.

I stayed up until one in the morning, to finish this book. I have never cried about a book before, but this book is the closest I have gotten. I found this book made me physically ill. I lay in bed that night and I couldn’t sleep, it left my stomach in knots and my heart aching. I get the feeling I am going to carry this story with me for a while before I can let it go.

So if you feel like you need a good cry or you feel the need to read something sad I would recommend this book.

Verity

Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish.
Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of Verity’s notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started. What Lowen doesn’t expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity never intended for anyone to read. Page after page of bone-chilling admissions, including Verity’s recollection of what really happened the day her daughter died.
Lowen decides to keep the manuscript hidden from Jeremy, knowing its contents would devastate the already grieving father. But as Lowen’s feelings for Jeremy begin to intensify, she recognizes all the ways she could benefit if he were to read his wife’s words. After all, no matter how devoted Jeremy is to his injured wife, a truth this horrifying would make it impossible for him to continue to love her
