Two marriages. Three little lies. Someone’s going to die…
I hold my breath as my handsome husband walks through the door. I’ve planned the perfect surprise birthday party for him. Our friends are gathered and the champagne is flowing. But when I catch the look in his deep brown eyes, I realise I’ve got this horribly wrong.
All evening my stomach is churning. And I can’t help but notice Danielle Baines speaking with Aiden. With her salon-styled hair, diamonds glittering on her ring finger and married to a rich businessman she has the kind of lifestyle I can only dream of. I’ve never liked her. And I know the feeling is mutual.
So why is she here and what is she saying to my husband?
Now it’s the end of the party and the man I love is confessing a secret that shocks me to the core. But it’s not what I was afraid of. It’s much worse.
He says we have to take our son and leave the place we call home because our lives are in danger.
I thought I knew everything about my husband. But suddenly he feels like a stranger. Should I trust him with my life?

I love that there are so many Shalini Boland books available on my Audible membership. I love this author and I find myself drawn to her books whenever I see them. The Perfect Stranger is a brilliant read with a fabulous twist.

I love how the author always finds a way to leave me surprised. This book is no different. You will find yourself enjoying the characters and their lives only to rather unexpectedly find that you cannot walk away.

If you are not familiar with Shalini Boland’s work you can expect an easy read with realistic relatable characters who find themselves in rather unusual circumstances. The author wraps you up in the lives of her characters and you find yourself quickly completely engrossed.

This book tells the story of two couples, one struggles with debt while the other lives the high life. One couple finds themselves running for their lives while the other is doing everything they can to fall pregnant. When it appears as if they are all about to have exactly what they want, their worlds implode to a surprising ending.

I have to say that this book was not my favourite by this author, but at the same time I absolutely loved the ending, I did not see that final twist coming. That makes this book well worth checking out.

The two men in this book are brilliant and you will find yourself sympathising with their situations. While the men are sure to leave your blood boiling. A brilliant mix of good and bad.

Shalini Boland is yet to leave me disappointed. I enjoy her easy writing style and also find myself reaching for one of her books when I am looking for an easy read, that will keep me engrossed.

I am sure you will find this book highly enjoyable and gripping, go ahead, if you haven’t read this one, add it to your TBR.

Author bio from the author’s site

Books and music are my passion and I’ve always been a writer in some shape or form. Before children, I was signed to Universal Music as a singer/songwriter. But that all seems like several lifetimes ago.

Now I combine motherhood with writing fiction. I write the kinds of books I love to read – suspenseful thrillers and gripping adventures.
