It was such a pity I did not have more time this last while to read as all I wanted to do was read this book. It had me hooked and I hated every time I had to put it down.
I will say the ending sort of came out of nowhere for me. This is weird because I read a few reviews and lots of people said they saw it coming and I honestly didn’t. Although that might have been because I kept picking it up and putting it down for two weeks. Every single character was suspicious to me at least once which was so much fun.
I will say Holly Jackson know how to write, although I didn’t love the production log as it was a lot of text to read at once, I did love how much information we could get in one page. I did however love the dialogues that were in this book. That made it nice and easy to read. It made the book more memorable and stand out from others.
I like how this book wasn’t afraid to touch on hard topics. I liked the realistic way the author portrayed the world. I also liked how by the end not everything was perfect as sadly in real life there is no perfect ending. I enjoyed that the main character had to work to be a better version of herself and how self-aware she was.
I appreciated that the characters in this book weren’t two dimensional. It was nice to have that depth to the characters. Pippa and Ravi specifically.
My favourite character had to be, Barney. Yes, the dog. I think that poor dog deserved so much better.
I wonder what the next book will be about as this murder has been solved. However, I am looking forward to the next book and seeing what it has installed.
I would most certainly recommend this book. It gets five out of five stars from me.

Good Girl, Bad Blood
Pip is not a detective anymore.
With the help of Ravi Singh, she released a true-crime podcast about the murder case they solved together last year. The podcast has gone viral, yet Pip insists her investigating days are behind her.
But she will have to break that promise when someone she knows goes missing. Jamie Reynolds has disappeared, on the very same night, the town hosted a memorial for the sixth-year anniversary of the deaths of Andie Bell and Sal Singh.
The police won’t do anything about it. And if they won’t look for Jamie then Pip will, uncovering more of her town’s dark secrets along the way… and this time everyone is listening. But will she find him before it’s too late?
As Good As Dead
Pip is about to head to college, but she is still haunted by the way her last investigation ended. She’s used to online death threats in the wake of her viral true-crime podcast, but she can’t help noticing an anonymous person who keeps asking her: Who will look for you when you’re the one who disappears?
Soon the threats escalate and Pip realizes that someone is following her in real life. When she starts to find connections between her stalker and a local serial killer caught six years ago, she wonders if maybe the wrong man is behind bars.
Police refuse to act, so Pip has only one choice: find the suspect herself—or be the next victim. As the deadly game plays out, Pip discovers that everything in her small town is coming full circle . . .and if she doesn’t find the answers, this time she will be the one who disappears.
Holly Jackson was born in 1992. She grew up in Buckinghamshire and started writing stories from a young age, completing her first (poor) attempt at a book aged fifteen.
‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ is a YA Mystery Thriller and her debut novel. She lives in London and aside from reading and writing, she enjoys binge-playing video games and pointing out grammatical errors in street signs
