As war bears down upon them all, Feyre endeavours to take her place amongst the High Fae of the land, balancing her struggle to master her powers-both magical and political-and her love for her court and family. Amidst these struggles, Feyre and Rhysand must decide whom to trust amongst the cunning and lethal High Lords and hunt for allies in unexpected places.

The book starts with Feyre in Tamlin’s court. She stays there trying to learn as much information as possible before she goes back to the Night Court. Then when she is back they start to prepare for the war that is about to break out. The story follows Feyre and Rhysand and the rest of the Night Court crew as they try their best to get allies on their side and as they prep for war.

The one complaint I have with this book is that is long. Yes, I know the book is over 700 pages so I knew what I was signing up for but at times it felt unnecessarily long. There were parts in the book that felt like it was filler and felt unnecessary. The amount of repetition in this book was exhausting.

This book had more plot than the last book. I felt like there was more of a purpose than the first one, which I enjoyed. I even found the story intriguing. I liked how they had to try to prepare for war

My favourite character had to be Freye, although Amren is a close second. I loved Freye in this book, she slightly annoyed me in the last one but she turned into such a badass character. When she stood up to Ianthe like that I was so happy. Ianthe got what she deserved and I could not be any happier. Then there was Amren…honestly, if I could be half as cool as she is then I would be happy. Amren is such an awesome character and I loved how took Nesta under her wing. The next book better have more of her in it.

The worst character award definitely goes to Tamlin. My gosh, this man was terrible. I am just glad he was not in this book a lot.

I enjoyed this book quite a bit. This book was the first book I finished after a month of exams so I think even if the book was terrible I would have enjoyed it. As I finally had time to read. Overall I would recommend this book.
