Mona thought her living situation was bad… but the real mess is just beginning.
One day is all it takes for Mona’s life to implode. After years of climbing at her marketing firm, she was supposed to be getting promoted and finally moving out of her crumbling apartment building. Instead, she’s jobless, aimless, and still stuck in a space barely big enough for a yoga mat.
Then her eccentric landlady takes a tumble and asks Mona to step in as the building’s reluctant super. The deal is simple: help prep the place for sale, and she can secure the upgrade she’s been chasing. But that’s easier said than done when the neighbors treat “boundaries” as optional. There’s the shouting couple, the mysterious shut-in, a possible panty thief in the laundry room—and Sami, the relentlessly cheerful diner owner who keeps showing up with coffee and unsolicited ideas about community. As Mona gets pulled deeper into the building’s chaos—and closer to the people inside it—she’s forced to confront what, and who, she’s really been trying to outrun. Sometimes, the place you’re desperate to leave is the one that finally shows you who you are.

I loved Natalie Sue’s previous book, so I was really looking forward to reading this one. Once again, Sue delivers an entertaining story filled with humour, quirky characters and a little bit of heart.
At its core, this is a story about self-discovery and learning to reassess what really matters in life. Mona is forced to step away from her career, and suddenly finds herself in the uncomfortable position of having no idea what to do with herself. When she agrees to help with the building she lives in while on leave, she is pushed out of her comfort zone and forced to interact with her neighbours. Much to her surprise, she discovers that she actually likes them!
There is definitely a rom-com element to this story. Girl meets boy, girl does something that threatens the neighbourhood boy loves, and then has to work hard to regain his trust. Of course, we all know where this is heading, and there is a happily-ever-after waiting at the end.
Described like that, it sounds rather predictable and perhaps even a little dreadful, but honestly, it really wasn’t! Despite knowing more or less where the story was going, I had a great time reading it. Sue has a wonderful way of creating characters who are funny, relatable and just a little bit quirky.
I particularly enjoyed the meddling parent, who provided plenty of laughs, and Mona’s journey as she begins to question the choices she has made and what she actually wants from life. The characters and their dynamics felt quite familiar, though, and I couldn’t help noticing the similarities to Sue’s previous book. An introverted, career-driven protagonist, a love interest who challenges her outlook on life, and a wonderfully entertaining supporting cast. That would be my one small complaint, as I would have loved to see something a little different this time around.
That said, this was still a thoroughly entertaining read. It had me laughing, but there were also moments that tugged at my heartstrings. Sometimes a predictable story is exactly what you need, especially when it is told this well.
If you are looking for a book with plenty of dark humour, quirky characters and a feel-good story with a little romance thrown in, You’ll Love It Here is definitely worth picking up!

I HOPE THIS FINDS YOU WELL
As far as Jolene is concerned, her interactions with her colleagues should start and end with her official duties as an admin for Supershops, Inc. Unfortunately, her irritating, incompetent coworkers don’t seem to understand the importance of boundaries. Her secret to survival? She vents her grievances in petty email postscripts, then changes the text colour to white so no one can see. That is, until one of her secret messages is exposed. Her punishment: sensitivity training (led by the suspiciously friendly HR guy, Cliff) and rigorous email restrictions.
When an IT mix-up grants her access to her entire department’s private emails and DMs, Jolene knows she should report it, but who could resist reading what their coworkers are really saying? And when she discovers layoffs are coming, she realizes this might just be the key to saving her job. The plan is simple: gain her boss’s favour, convince HR she’s Supershops material and beat out the competition.
But as Jolene is drawn further into her coworker’s private worlds and secrets, her carefully constructed walls begin to crumble—especially around Cliff, who she definitely cannot have feelings for. Soon she will need to decide if she’s ready to leave the comfort of her cubicle, even if it means coming clean to her colleagues.
