Eight hours.

Six friends.

One sniper . . .

Eighteen year old Red and her friends are on a road trip in an RV, heading to the beach for Spring Break. It’s a long drive but spirits are high. Until the RV breaks down in the middle of nowhere. There’s no mobile phone reception and nobody around to help. And as the wheels are shot out, one by one, the friends realise that this is no accident. There’s a sniper out there in the dark watching them and he knows exactly who they are. One of the group has a secret that the sniper is willing to kill for.

A game of cat-and-mouse plays out as the group desperately tries to get help and to work out which member of the group is the target. Buried secrets are forced to light in the cramped, claustrophobic setting of the RV, and tensions within the group will reach deadly levels. Not everyone will survive the night.

Official Summary

Five Survive by Holly Jackson, this book is an absolute rollercoaster! So, picture this: five besties, a cosy RV in the woods, and a weekend getaway that’s supposed to be all about fun and relaxation. Things take a crazy turn when they stumble upon this seriously creepy secret lurking in the forest.

The writing in “Five Survive” by Holly Jackson is heart-pounding and immersive, keeping readers on the edge of their seats with each twist and turn.

My favourite character was easy to pick, Alex, the jokester of the group. Always quick with a one-liner to lighten the mood, even in the most dire situations. But don’t let his laid-back vibe fool you; when push comes to shove, he’s got a heart of gold.

Okay, so the ending of “Five Survive” by Holly Jackson… I have mixed feelings about it, to be honest. On one hand, it did tie up some loose ends and provide closure to the story. But on the other hand, it left me with so many unanswered questions and a sense of unresolved tension. It’s like, did we really get all the answers we needed, or are there still secrets lurking in those woods? I’m conflicted, to say the least.

I could not recommend this book more. Holly Jackson is really shaping up to be one of my all-time favourite authors. And I’m not just saying that because I have met her. I cannot wait to read her latest release as soon as possible, so make sure to look out for that review.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder

The case is closed. Five years ago, schoolgirl Andie Bell was murdered by Sal Singh. The police know he did it. Everyone in town knows he did it.

But having grown up in the same small town that was consumed by the murder, Pippa Fitz-Amobi isn’t so sure. When she chooses the case as the topic for her final year project, she starts to uncover secrets that someone in town desperately wants to stay hidden. And if the real killer is still out there, how far will they go to keep Pip from the truth?
