Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she’s struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can’t seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it.
The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre’s Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta’s orbit. But her temper isn’t the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other.
Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the Continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts.
Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance and healing in each other’s arms.
Official Summary

A Court of Silver Flames is the fourth official book in the series, five if you include the novella. Unlike the rest of the series, this book is not told from Feyre’s point of view or Rhysand’s. It is told from Nesta’s and Cassian’s.
This book has been on my physical TBR for over a year now. I have been meaning to get to it but I haven’t for two reasons. One, big book fear, wow this book was long. Two, I had seen so many mixed reviews on this book, some people love it and some people aggressively hate this book so I was scared of finishing the series badly.
I was pleasantly surprised. Although it was long, it was a quick read. And although Nesta wasn’t my favourite character in the previous books I grew to like her in this one. That being said there were still things she did that made me want to yell at her. But Feyre was the same. For example, neither of them knows how to listen. They somehow always think they know better than the people who have far more experience than them.
Cassian was also an alright character, he was sort of exactly what I thought he would be, he never surprised me the way Nesta did.
I do feel like Rhys’ character was abolished in this book. I mean Maas spent the last four books telling us how amazing he is and then in this one he turned into Tamlin. It was terrible to read and I am very curious to see how Maas is going to dig herself out of that hole.
I will also say that I want a book more focused on Elaine. I know a lot of people want to see if she will choose Az or Lucien but honestly, I don’t even care about that. I just want to know what goes on in that girl’s head, because we see so little of her and we get nothing from her, like the girl has no personality and yet there are so many people willing to fight for her and I just don’t understand why. Overall I think the only thing I want to get out of the next ACOTAR book, if there is one, is what on earth is going on with Elaine.
Overall if you are a fan of the ACOTAR series then I recommend you pick this one up, but I also recommend you go into it with an open mind.
